Dr. Marco Pistoia, Ph.D. is the CEO of IonQ Italia and a globally recognized expert in quantum computing and quantum security. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from New York University. Before joining IonQ in 2025, he served as Global Head of Applied Research at JPMorganChase (2020–2025) and Senior Manager of Quantum Applications at IBM Research (1996–2019). With more than 700 patents, he ranks among the world’s 250 most prolific inventors of all time. He is the author of ten books and over 400 scientific publications and has made significant contributions to advancing practical applications of quantum computing.
