Marco Bussone

President, UNCEM

Biography

Marco Bussone is a professional journalist who contributes to numerous national and regional publications (including Il Risveglio, La Voce del Popolo, World of Costa Crociere, Platinum, PieMonti, and Città Nuova).

He currently heads the national press office of UNCEM (National Union of Mountain Municipalities) and is responsible for organizing and managing the Union’s major events.

Since 2014, he has served as a municipal councilor for Vallo Torinese (Turin) and as a councilor for the Mountain Union of the Valli di Lanzo, Ceronda, and Casternon municipalities.

In 2015, he was appointed Vice President of UNCEM Piedmont.

In 2018, he was appointed President of UNCEM.

In recent years, Marco has helped foster tangible development in mountain areas by working on strategic issues such as innovation, public administration information systems, transport, healthcare, and social services.

He is an expert in European, national, and regional project planning, with specific expertise in programs such as Alpine Space, Central Europe, Interreg, H2020, MED, ArcoTra, ERDF (FESR), and RDP (PSR).

He has managed projects (including ClimAlpTour, AlpWaterScarce, Demochange, ReTurn, Moreco, Adapt2DC, and E2Bebis) focused on mountain areas, particularly addressing topics such as renewable energy, water and forest resource management, the revitalization of abandoned villages and territories, and the digital divide.
